COVID-19 ,Rehabilitation, A long distance race

COVID-19, a novel infectious disease, is continuing to spread rapidly, exacerbating an ongoing global outbreak. Around 10% of patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 remain unwell beyond three weeks, and a smaller proportion for months.

Patients suffer from reduced cardiopulmonary endurance and impaired quality of life after recovery because of the possible sequelae of pulmonary fibrosis, as well as the inevitable consequences of long-term bedridden status during treatment. Additionally, patients with mild disease may also become frail due to a sedentary lifestyle during the isolation period.

Apart from medical treatment and supportive therapy, rehabilitation plays a vital role throughout the course of the entire disease. An appropriate rehabilitation program could help patients recovering from COVID-19 disease to maintain exercise capacity and activities of daily living.

On the other hand, the disease remains highly contagious and poses a substantial threat to medical providers. Along with limited rehabilitation therapy personnel, this prevents most patients from appropriate rehabilitation therapy, which will have a detrimental effect on their long-term quality of life.

BioGradient has the unique and novel capability of providing a remote, safe and efficient respiratory and physical rehabilitation program.
